View from Hotel Room |
Because of the weather we decided for some inside activities and boarded on "hop on / hop off" bus system to tour around Vancouver's downtown area. A fun ride, except for the fact it was a convertible bus and we needed to take seat on the outside. After 15 mins we were soaking wet, but happy because the view on this part of the bus is spectacular.
Our destination is the Vancouver Aquarium, which is located in Stanley Park, an amazing park with a beautiful Rose Garden, the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club and much, much more. This is the prime recreational area for many people from downtown Vancouver, whis has about 580.000 inhabitants. The Vancouver Aquarium surprised us with its impressive display of the marine world of British Columbia. We've seen quite a few aquariums on our trips, but this one is special because of its focus on the local wildlife.
Time was flying while we were touring the exhibition. The place was crowded, because it was a Sunday, it was raining outside and a lot of kids had their summer camps with a trip to the Aquarium. The sound of the video may give you an impression of how the level of noise was around the whole building. I am sure the Dolphins like the fact, the Aquarium is not open day and night.
